Tuition Language

The tuition language of the programme is English. The application procedure requires students to prove an English proficiency corresponding to a score of at least 577 in the paper-based TOEFL, or any level equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFRL).

Language Training and Skills Certificate

The consortium offers language courses in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Catalan, Italian and German. Students follow mandatory local language courses during the first two semesters at ULB and UPC, and may, upon request, attend language courses at the university of the specialisation. Students can also attend local language courses organised by ULB during the summer preceding their enrolment in the programme or by the universities of the specialisation between the first and the second year.

Finally, the master’s thesis will be written and publicly defended in English, and will contain a summary in the national language of the university of the specialisation. Thus, we expect students to reach by the end of the programme at least level A1 in the local languages of the universities they have attended.

Whenever possible, partners will register students for official language tests, and they will be encouraged to complete their Europass Language Passport.
